The welcome return of the sun in the weekend meant a good turn out of riders for the Chocolate Fish Race held on Sunday 27 February.
The race was held at the bmx track end of the scenic and riding conditions were good, damp but not enough to be slippery, providing plenty of grip. The race was a good opportunity to stretch the legs at pace for the upcoming Pass to Pub.
Aside from a few unfortunate mechanicals with a broken chain and gear problems, all riders enjoyed the course with a bunch even having enough energy to go for a group ride afterwards.

For a change of scenery (and very nice scenery it is!) the next Chocolate Fish Race is to be held at the top of the White Horse in Waimate on 27 March 2011. We will be using a recently built track made by a local keen mountainbiker (Thanks Dave) that is undulating and definitely rideable by all skill levels. Those keen for a sweet downhill ride after the race can park at the bottom of the hill and bike up. But for those of us less keen on uphill torture there is a carpark at the top of the hill that the race will start from.
More details will be provided closer to the time.
