Sunday 27 March – Waimate
Meeting at 9.30am to sign in at the top of the White Horse (Look out for the mtb sign).
Location:- Held at the top of the White Horse mountain bike track in Waimate. We will be using a recently built track made by a keen local mountainbiker (Thanks Dave) that is undulating and definitely rideable by all skill levels. Those keen for a sweet downhill ride after the race can park at the bottom of the hill and bike up. But for those of you less keen on uphill torture there is parking at the top of the hill, close to where the race will start from. (Note: The main mtb track leading from the bottom of the hill up to the top of the white horse will not be used in the race).
Thanks to Ann and Gary Dennison of Te Kiteroa for allowing us to run this event.
Top Carpark:- From Queen St in Waimate drive through town and turn right onto Mill Rd, drive along Mill Rd for about 4km and turn left onto Parkers Bush Rd (This will turn into a gravel road) head up the hill for about 2km where the road will split, take the left onto Centrewood Park Rd. At the end of the road you be on top of the White Horse where there is ample car parking.
Bottom Carpark:- From Queen St in Waimate drive through town and turn right onto Mill Rd. Drive along Mill Rd for about 500m and turn left onto Point Bush Rd. Follow this to the end of the road and you will find the carpark from where the mtb track starts, it is well sign posted from this point onwards. From here, ride up the mountainbike track to the top of the White Horse.
Race Starts at 10am….30min race
Entry is $2, and all participants receive a Chocolate Fish!
See you all there!
